Meet Dr. Benn Lieberman

Dr. Benn Lieberman is a second generation dentist. Born and raised in central Connecticut, he moved to Boston for his undergraduate and dental degrees. He received both his B.A. and D.M.D. from Tufts University. Those who receive an undergraduate and professional degree from Tufts are known as Double Jumbos in honor of the school’s mascot.

Following dental school, Dr. Lieberman moved to New York to begin his residency training in oral and maxillofacial surgery. At Westchester Medical Center he was able to see and treat all manner of oral and maxillofacial diseases, deformities, and conditions. This training at a Level I trauma center is modeled after the European tradition of training oral and maxillofacial surgeons alongside other medical professionals.
Dr. Lieberman is Board Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and by the American Dental Society of Anesthesia. Additionally, he is a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Lieberman is active in the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and he is a member of the 9th District Dental Association, the New York State Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. He was recently selected as an examiner for the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Self Assessment Tool (OMSSAT).
Currently, Dr. Lieberman is the Director of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at two area hospitals – Jacobi Medical Center and Northern Westchester Hospital. Jacobi Medical Center is a Level 1 trauma hospital and it is a main teaching site for the Mount Sinai Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program. When he is not at SBOMS, Dr. Lieberman can be found performing major surgery and teaching residents in oral and maxillofacial surgery as well as pediatric and general dentistry.
Dr. Lieberman also enjoys donating his time and skills to humanitarian groups. He has traveled to Central America numerous times with Hope for a Healthier Humanity to provide needed oral surgery care to the poor of Honduras.
Dr. Lieberman is married to Dr. Michelle Kreiner-Lieberman (a pediatric dentist) and together they have two wonderful children, Payton and Noah.
